2012:
Hines has entered a joint venture with Pinto Realty Partners to develop and market Pinto Business Park, the 1,000-acre site at I-45 and the North Belt. The master plan is for 6 million square feet of industrial space, 2 million square feet of office and 270,000 square feet of flex space, plus 110,000 square feet for amenities. The development is anchored by a Sysco Food Services 600,000 square-foot distribution center, offices and test kitchens.
A US Army Corps of Engineers Army Reserve Center is under construction on I-45 near Richey Road. The $15 million facility, set for completion in September 2012, will include a training building, maintenance shop and storage building.
The Houston Business Journal reports Robert Marsh, founder of the old Everyone’s Internet (EV1), has a new venture that he’s opening in Greenspoint. Called eSigns.com, the custom sign and banner company will be housed in a new 62,000-square-foot manufacturing and headquarter facility in IDI’s Greenspoint Business Center at I-45 near Beltway 8. The facility is expected to employ 35 people when it opens in August 2012.
Moran Shipping, a provider of agency and maritime consulting services to many of the world’s most prominent ship owners, operators and charterers, celebrated the April opening of its new 24,000-square-foot building on Ronan Road near Sam Houston Parkway.
Bureau Veritas, a global leader in conformity assessment and certification services, has leased 32,000 square feet of office space at 390 Benmar. A global company with expertise in quality, health, safety, environment and social responsibility, Bureau Veritas has 52,000 employees worldwide, including 180 at the new location.
Oldcastle BuildingEnvelop, a designer and manufacturer of integrated building systems, including exteriors, frames and glass, has leased 61,000 square feet in IDI’s Greenspoint Business Center on Esplanade Boulevard.
OBAX USA has renewed and expanded into 6,591 square feet of office space at 363 N. Sam Houston Parkway, the company’s corporate headquarters. OBAX is the fastest growing and largest 100% indigenous Nigerian local content company supporting oil & gas companies with specialized in-country onshore and offshore services for exploration, development, production and processing worldwide.
Recent leases at IDI’s Greenspoint Business Center building at 11710 North Freeway include:
- Gorrondona & Associates Inc., which provides surveying, geotech and material testing services, 14,000 square feet
- ADT, a provider of home and commercial security systems and service, 14,000 square feet
- Dahill copy machine sales, rentals and service provider, 11,000 square feet
Cargo Crating Company, a provider of export packing solutions to the oil and gas, electronics, medical and chemical industries, has leased 45,000 square feet of warehouse space at 845 Greens Parkway.
2011:
EastGroup Properties has acquired 133 acres of land along Beltway 8 near the entrance to George Bush Intercontinental Airport for the expansion of
its World Houston International Business Center. In addition to the purchase price of approximately $10 million, EastGroup intends to invest $10 million in infrastructure improvements to the site. The acquisition provides Jackson, Miss.-based EastGroup the opportunity to add some 1.6
million square feet of industrial space through new development in future years.
Scientific Drilling, an independent provider of directional drilling and wellbore navigation technologies, has leased 20,700 square feet at Greenspoint Park, which is located on Northchase and Benmar Drive.
Coastal HVAC Supply, a HVAC wholesaler, signed a lease for 53,000 square feet in the Greenspoint Business Center on Esplanade Boulevard. Coastal HVAC is relocating from its 30,000-square-foot space on Bradfield Road.
Integrated Production Systems, a provider of production enhancement services to the North American oil and gas market, has leased 16,500 square feet at Greenspoint Park. The company provides completion, workover and production optimization services and products.
Mazak, a manufacturer that makes machine tools for energy, agricultural, automotive and aerospace industries, will open a new 30,000-square-foot
regional headquarters and technology center in June. The new building is on Sam Houston Parkway West near Interstate 45.
Moran Shipping, a provider of agency and maritime consulting services to many of the world’s most prominent ship owners, operators and charterers, recently broke ground on a new 24,000-square-foot building. The new Houston office is located on Ronan Road near Sam Houston Parkway East.
Fibertown, a technology company that provides co-location services and disaster recovery space, has leased 50,000 square feet in the Digital Realty Trust campus. The space will be used as a data center and will open this summer.
