  Greater Greenspoint Redevelopment Authority:

Abandoned apartment complexes were turned into family-friendly places to play – Thomas R. Wussow and CityView Parks. Aldine Independent School District turns a community eyesore into Doug Bussey Elementary.

This is just a sample of the initiatives and partnerships that have continued Greenspoint’s trek in a positive direction, thanks to the Greenspoint Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ).

The Greater Greenspoint Redevelopment Authority oversees the area’s TIRZ (City of Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #11). Greenspoint’s Zone is a huge plus for the community because it provides incentives for developers to build or redevelop in Greenspoint, and reimburses them for the public amenities they include in their projects. Streets, parks, public plazas, lighting, landscaping and streetscaping are all crowning touches to a development that may be reimbursable.
