If you’re tired of burgers and beef, check out the interesting and tasty poultry treats on the menu at Super Chicken, 414 North Sam Houston Parkway, just east of Imperial Valley Drive. Owner Joseph Theis and his classically trained chef have developed a menu that combines traditional favorites like chicken tenders and chicken salad with more adventurous fare.
The Grilled Chicken Bacon Melt, for example, adds Havarti cheese and pepperoncini peppers to its roasted chicken pieces for a smooth and tangy flavor. If you’re a Greek salad aficionado who’s not in the mood for all the lettuce, try the Greek Chicken Salad Sandwich with its wonderful feta and kalamata olive flavors tucked into a chunky chicken salad.
And, of course, the chicken tenders are the house specialty, and they come with your choice of several made-from-scratch dipping sauces.
Sides include a selection of flavored shoestring fries, sweet potato waffle fries, broccoli salad or their Texas slaw, a combo of cabbage, cilantro and jalapenos.
And if your party includes any chicken-averse members, Super Chicken has a sausage sandwich and a roast beef sandwich on the menu, as well as several salads that can be ordered with or without the bird.
For corporate clients, the catering menu includes boxed lunches or trays, and Theis seems more than willing to do whatever it takes to keep the customer happy. So if you don’t see it on the menu (which you can find online at www.super-chicken.com), ask.
